Hanjeong Lee

Hanjeong Lee (b. 1981, Korea)

Hanjeong Lee is a contemporary Korean artist who reconstructs the familiar faces of nature into meditative landscapes. Having honed her craft in both Korea and China (B.F.A. Ewha Womans Univ., M.F.A. Central Academy of Fine Arts), she possesses a deep and cross-cultural understanding of traditional landscape painting. She builds layers of repetitive ink dots and lines to capture the vibrating vitality and rhythm of the earth.

Her works are held in prestigious collections, including the MMCA (National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art) Art Bank, Seoul City Hall, SK, and the E-Land Foundation. Lee transforms the mundane scenery of forests, fields, and lakes into sacred inner spaces, inviting viewers to a moment of tranquil contemplation.
