    About the Artwork

The Wind Blows I by Sangheon Lee

"Making the invisible breeze tangible through texture." This captivating artwork visualizes the flow of wind sweeping through a field. Unlike traditional paintings, Sang Heon Lee creates a unique surface relief by squeezing acrylic paint through a syringe. Thousands of fine, raised lines accumulate on the absorbent Jangji (Korean paper) background, mimicking the swaying of grass in nature . The result is not just a visual image, but a tactile landscape where you can almost feel the rhythm and breath of the wind.

    Why We Love This Collection

    🧪 The Syringe Technique
The artist’s signature technique—using a syringe instead of a brush for the final layer—creates a distinct 3D texture (Matière). These raised lines catch the light differently throughout the day, making the artwork look dynamic and alive, as if the wind is truly blowing.

    🌬️ Visualizing the Invisible
Wind has no shape, but Lee gives it form. The rhythmic, swaying lines capture the "momentary breath of nature," turning a static wall into a breathing space. It brings a sense of freedom and movement to living rooms or quiet hallways.

    🌿 Restful Green & Gold
The warm blend of grassy greens and earthy tones creates a soothing atmosphere. It reminds us of standing in an open field, offering visual relief and psychological comfort to those weary from urban life.

    🏆 Proven Value
Sangheon Lee is an established artist whose works are collected by prestigious institutions such as the MMCA Art Bank (National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art), Seoul City Hall, and Lotte Hotel Seoul. His unique approach to modernizing traditional Korean painting is highly regarded .
