Profile

Jeonghui Lee (b. 1982, Korea)

Jeonghui Lee is a contemporary Korean artist who illuminates the value of "non-human beings" often overlooked in our daily lives. Majoring in Oriental Painting at Chugye University for the Arts, she focuses on subjects like roadside weeds and stray animals, applying gold leaf—which she calls the "color of dignity"—to restore their inherent sanctity and presence.

Through meticulous coloring on cotton and Hanji (Korean paper), Lee invites viewers to reflect on the meaning of coexistence and the connection between all living things. Her works are collected by the Yangju City Chang Ucchin Museum of Art and the Gyeonggi Cultural Foundation.
